What is a Managed Exercise Program?

  • Located in our Fitness is Medicine Gym in Longmont, Colorado
  • Think of it as an exercise class designed specifically just for you!
  • Small class sizes of 4-5 people, each performing their own exercise program
  • Exercise Programs designed, implemented and managed specifically for and with each client by an ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist

What can I expect during my exercise session at Fitness is Medicine?

Fitness is Medicine Managed Exercise Program
  • Direction and assistance with all exercises, including consistent monitoring of form
  • An individualized program, designed and ready, prior to the clients' scheduled exercise time  
  • A non-intimidating environment aimed toward health and function, helping you reach your goal
  • Monitoring of resting and exercise blood pressure, heart rate and O2 saturation

How is this different than my local gym?

  • This is way more fun!
  •  We design a personalized program for YOUR needs and goals
  • Supervision is constant. You are never left alone to try to figure out what you should be doing. 
  • You will be guided through your program for as long as you need until you feel comfortable advancing through your program independently
  • Programs updated regularly to meet your needs
  • A certified, knowledgable staff-member is always present
  • Vitals (heart rate, blood pressure and Oxygen levels) are monitored during your exercise sessions
  • Exercise form monitored constantly

What if I'm limited by a medical condition?

  •  It has been proven that exercise can be an effective way of managing ANY type of medical condition
  • Abby has had success working with a variety of complex conditions including: Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, Parkinson's Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Diabetes, Obesity, Limited Mobility, Pre and Post Joint Replacement and more  
  • Fitness is Medicine will work closely with your doctor to determine the right managed exercise program for you

Fitness is Medicine offers two levels of Exercise Programing:

  • Group Managed Exercise Programs
  • Private Exercise Training

Group Managed Exercise Program:

  • Initial individual evaluation to determine needs, current level of function and strength, and goal setting
  • Each client can expect approximately 10 minutes or more of one-on-one Exercise Physiologist time per visit
  • Exercise programs will continue to be updated and adjusted as the client advances
  • There will be no more than six clients exercising in the gym at once  
  • Each client will have a personalized exercise program and will be working independently of each other

Personal Exercise Training:

Fitness is Medicine Managed Exercise program
  • One on One attention throughout each session
  • Continually changing and updating daily workouts
  • The ultimate in Exercise prescription and instruction

  • During the FREE initial consultation we will:
    • Evaluate current health status, medications and other concerns
    • Determine needs and set goals
    • Perform initial strength and cardiovascular testing to determine baseline levels
    • Schedule a consistent workout schedule to fit your needs
